On Easter Sunday, ordained minister Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) claimed that the Christian holiday meant to honor Jesus Christ’s resurrection is about more than just Jesus Christ’s resurrection.

Workers sent it out without the senator’s permission. Conservatives, notably those on the religious right, pounced on the tweet almost instantly. Jenna Ellis, a former counsel for former President Donald Trump, slammed the accusation as “heresy.”
Christian author Benjamin Watson called the sentiment “heresy.”
“Easter is not a story for moral motivation toward good works. The resurrection reveals our INABILITY to save ourselves in this life or the next, proving Jesus alone holds that power. Urging people to help others need not come at the expense of doctrine. To do so is heresy,”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Col.) said Sunday on social media, “Jesus, uncanceled.” ???
The only thing more obnoxious than “cancel culture” is the people who refuse to learn what it is or how to use the term correctly. For the record, Christ was not chased from his job and compelled to open a Substack account because of a “bad” joke or opinion. He was murdered by the Roman Empire based on false allegations of blasphemy brought by religious authorities. Also, and perhaps we shouldn’t think too hard about this, Christ was never “canceled.” He was victorious over death. That’s the whole point.
