A prisoner escaped custody from the Department of Parole in Queens Tuesday morning, Oct. 15, but was captured less than an hour later.

Johensal Martetejada, 29, was in the custody of the Department of Corrections and Community when he got away from police in Briarwood about 8:30 a.m.

Marte was caught about 45 minutes later police said. He was arrested for assault in June.

AIR 11 was over the scene and showed multiple officers and squad cars, and a black SUV with the door open as they looked for the escaped prisoner.

Martetejada was nabbed for assault on June 9 and released without bail, having had 20 previous arrests.
