A 21-year-old man leaped to his death from a rooftop bar in New York City shortly after ordering a drink he never touched, police and witnesses said Tuesday, July 30.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene after jumping from the 16-story Roger Smith Hotel in Manhattan, landing on the roof of a four-story apartment building.
Witnesses think that the young man fell to his death intentionally.
An employee at the hotel said, “He sat down at the bar, ordered a drink and then just jumped. He didn’t even touch his drink.”
The employee added, “He wasn’t a guest at the hotel.”
Talita, a 48-year-old woman who was on a date at the time, told the New York Post, “We were all sitting at the rooftop bar and he just ran and he jumped.”
Investigators haven’t identified the man yet.
