A woman miraculously survived a mass shooting at a block party in Brooklyn, New York leaving 12 people injured, with one fatally. Her bra strap stopped a bullet from penetrating her back.
Daniesa Murdaugh, 21 says a bullet would have pierced her spine if it wasn’t for her bra strap.
“My bra strap, thank God it was thick enough to save it. If it wasn’t there, (the bullet) would have went deeper than it was,” said Murdaugh. “You can’t go outside and have fun without thinking somebody got a gun and I gotta run soon.”
“I believe God covered my baby,” Murdaugh’s mother said. “When EMS had cut her bra strap off, the bullet was just sitting on her bra strap.”
Murdaugh was still grazed by the bullet but wasn’t seriously injured.
NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill said the hospital released six of the 11 victims.
The event was attended by up to 3,000 people and was patrolled by over 100 NYPD cops.
Police believe at least two gunmen were involved, but haven’t made any arrests.
Police have asked anyone with information or cellphone video to come forward.
