A native of Atlanta celebrated a significant milestone on Tuesday, Sept. 10—her 100th birthday.
Jean Elizabeth Lynn was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Dublin, Georgia. She grew up in the small town before moving to Atlanta after marrying Leon Lynn.
Lynn got her bearings quickly in Atlanta, getting a job at the Athletic Club of Atlanta. She went on to work as a cook at Rosie T. Hollie Wright Elementary and Warren T. Jackson Elementary where and after 35 years of helping children, she retired.
Lynn also joined the Christian Memorial Episcopal Church on Butler Street, where she has been a member for more than 65 years!
She has four daughters: Carolyn Cooper, Barbara Grier, Joann Neal, and Leola Hatcher.
She celebrated her birthday at Atlanta’s A.G. Rhodes Nonprofit Nursing Home on Tuesday afternoon.
From all of us here at The BL, happy birthday Mrs. Lynn!
