White House National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien on Thursday, Aug. 13, said President Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize after a diplomatic breakthrough between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE.)
“He brought forth the … vision for Middle East peace to get an Israeli-Palestinian peace plan back in play and he’s brought peace to Afghanistan, at least between the U.S. and the Taliban,” O’Brien told host Sean Hannity.
“We haven’t lost a soldier in Afghanistan since February 29 in combat and we’re going to be down to 5,000 troops in Afghanistan. And now he’s brought peace to Israel and the UAE,” O’Brien said.
“I mean, it’s a pretty remarkable record of achievement. I don’t know who else would be in the running for a Nobel Prize if it’s not President Trump,” he added.
President Trump; Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a joint statement on Thursday after Israel and the UAE agreed to normalize relations.
During a White House press briefing earlier in the day, O’Brien praised President Trump as “a great peacemaker,” citing his role in brokering the normalization of relations between the UAE and Israel.

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden praised the peace deal as “a historic step” but credited efforts of the Obama-Biden administration.
“The coming together of Israel and Arab states builds on the efforts of multiple administrations to foster a broader Arab-Israeli opening, including the efforts of the Obama-Biden administration to build on the Arab Peace Initiative,” Biden said in a statement.
“A Biden-Harris Administration will seek to build on this progress, and will challenge all the nations of the region to keep pace,” he added.
During an event on Wednesday in Delaware alongside his newly announced running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif), Biden attacked the president, accusing him of “coddling terrorists and thugs” around the globe, reported the Breitbart News.
“We’re going to get to work fixing the mess that President Trump and Vice President [Mike] Pence have created, both at home and abroad, through four years of mismanagement and coddling of terrorists and thugs around the world,” Biden said.
Meanwhile, Former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell commended the peace deal between Israel and the UAE. In addition, he announced Thursday that the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo will try to resolve their long-standing dispute at the White House next month.
“I’ve waited a long time to have a Republican President who doesn’t start new wars, brings U.S. troops home, and still delivers Peace deals,” Grenell wrote in a tweet. “Electing an outsider like @realDonaldTrump to lead Washington, DC means the insiders are always mad – but America is better off.”
