A California mother was viciously beaten by the girl who had been bullying her 16-year-old daughter.

Maria Jimenez said a group of girls attacked her outside James Logan High School in Union City earlier this week when she, her husband, and their daughter were on their way to the school to speak with the principal, Fox 5 reported.

Jimenez had to be hospitalized after the incident and was treated Tuesday morning, Jan. 7, for a fractured nose, her husband Edgar Rojas said. Photos taken at the hospital showed her bruised face and a bloody eye.

She was recovering from a C-section following the birth of her third child four months ago when she was attacked, according to a GoFundMe page established to help with Maria’s medical expenses.

Edgar said he tried to shield his daughter from the assailants when they turned on his wife.

One teen was arrested after the incident and reportedly charged with battery with serious bodily injury, according to ABC 7.

The district was investigating the incident, according to reports.

The family said they plan to transfer their daughter to another high school.
