After 11 Iranian illegal immigrants were detained, former Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf noted that the Mexican border has become “very dangerous.”

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported that the illegal group, comprised of five women and six men, was apprehended by Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Sector, Arizona, near San Luis on Feb. 1, according to Fox News Feb. 5.

“The situation on the border right now is very dangerous. CBP is facing a little over 3,000 and, in some cases, 3,500 individuals coming across the border illegally every day,” Wolf reiterated.

He noted that previously 1,000 undocumented people coming in was considered a sign of a border crisis, and now that the situation has tripled, it is, of course, much worse.

Wolf also stated, “It’s very concerning the number of things that are occurring down there. And, again, I think it’s a direct result of some of the things that we have heard this administration do.”

In this case, Wolf referred to President Biden’s numerous executive orders destroying border controls put in place by former President Trump.

He lists halting the construction of the border wall, reinforcing the protection of immigrants who are beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and a project to reunite migrant families separated in the United States.

He also pointed to the option of giving citizenship to millions of illegal immigrants and his actions to stop the deportation of illegal immigrants detained inside the country.

All of these would be go signals to those south of the border, to those who want to cross illegally, to cartels, smugglers, and human traffickers, Wolf warned.

Wolf recommended that the Biden administration continues with the construction of the border wall, necessary not only in itself but also for infrastructure installed in parallel, which helps control overflow immigration.

“It’s not only that physical infrastructure, but it’s the roads, it’s the cameras, it’s the lighting, it’s the fiber-optic cables, it’s the whole system there that allows the border patrol … to do their job more effectively,” Wolf reiterated.

Several Republicans have warned about the dangers of easing immigration policies that Democrats are already implementing and are likely to continue to expand.

Marco Rubio, a Florida senator, warned about the dangers of neglecting border protection.

“Before we deal with immigration, we need to deal with COVID [the CCP Virus], make sure everyone has the chance to find a good job, and confront the threat from China,” Rubio advised.

He continued, “America should always welcome immigrants who want to become Americans. But we need laws that decide who and how many people can come here, and those laws must be enforced.”
