Facts need to be first and foremost in any accusation against anyone, no matter whom. Opinions can’t be the deciding factor for a guilty verdict. So why do the Democrats insist on smearing the good name of Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh without any corroborating evidence whatsoever?
“On the basis of this flimsy, uncorroborated story, they’re calling for Justice Kavanaugh to be impeached,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on the Senate floor on Monday, Sept. 16, following the breaking of a story that glaringly omitted exculpatory facts regarding Kavanaugh.
Senate Republican leaders have taken Democrats to task over their desperate attempts to convict Kavanaugh in the court of public opinion, with McConnell calling their behavior, “not normal political behavior.”
Despite a major correction by the New York Times on their story (NY Times) of a report of sexual impropriety against a victim who, it turned out had no recollection of the so-called incident, the Democrats that are running for the presidency all ignored the true facts and pressed on with their howls for the impeachment of Kavanaugh.
McConnell said the decision to confirm Kavanaugh’s position as Supreme Court justice was the right one. “We all remember this pattern, from last time around,” he said, about the recent Christine Blasey Ford allegation of sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh. “Shoot first, correct the facts later.”
“My heart goes out to Justice Kavanaugh’s family for being forced to endure this ridiculous treatment once again,” he tweeted. Democrats haven’t even acknowledged the massive correction to the NY Times story, insisting on continuing to go after Kavanaugh.
“If the only way to get the truth is to launch an impeachment process for Justice Kavanaugh, I support starting that process immediately,” said billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer the day after the NY Times correction.
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) did not back down in a new tweet Monday, saying, “The reality of Kavanaugh’s confirmation process is that it lacked any integrity—there has never been a meaningful investigation into these allegations. We need the truth.”
Even Democratic House Leader Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) is trying to ignore their calls for impeachment, saying on a radio show on Monday, “We have our hands full with impeaching the president right now.”
With the focus on impeachment, the Democrats hardly have time to convince the general public of the policies they are promoting, it’s almost as if they are of little importance as they become consumed by the fires of impeaching someone … anyone.
