A Oregon man who survived cancer not once, but twice, recently purchased a winning state lottery jackpot on Friday, Sept. 13.
Stu MacDonald purchases a megabucks ticket weekly and each time his wife Claudia tells him to “get the winning ticket,” but the one day she forgot, he bought one worth $4.6 million anyway.
“I am a very lucky guy,” MacDonald said. “I have survived cancer twice and here I am. This is amazing.”
MacDonald bought the quick pick ticket on Sept. 7 from Ashley’s Cafe in Bend, Oregon.
Ashley’s Cafe will get a 1% bonus of his winnings worth $46,000 for selling the ticket.
“We are thrilled to learn that we sold a Megabucks jackpot,” said Tezra Kong, director of operations at Ashley’s, according to the lottery statement. “A big congratulations to our guests on their windfall.”
