A man with a cardboard box and hand truck walked into a hospital in Milwaukie, Oregon, and left with an ATM containing $17,000, police said.

The suspect was captured on surveillance footage around 7:18 p.m. on Aug. 17 walking into the Providence Milwaukie Hospital, police said.

The man covered the ATM with a cardboard box, cut the machine’s wires and wheeled it out of the hospital using a hand cart. According to police, the ATM was then loaded into a dark-colored Subaru with a sticker in the right-hand corner of the rear windshield, FOX11 reported.

It wasn’t until the next day, Aug. 18, that hospital staff notified authorities of the stolen machine.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect was asked to contact Detective Anthony Cereghino at 503-786-7476 or [email protected]
