A man has been arrested after witnesses called police on him swinging a sword while wearing pajamas on the Empire State Building observation deck in New York.
The incident happened at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, as Matthew Dixon of Virginia, 35, was reportedly taking the 2-feet long sword out and hold it up against his chest as if he was trying to kill himself, the New York Post reported.
Paul Allen and his grand-daughter were at the deck when they saw the 35-year-old man. “I thought it was an act,” he told ABC7. “He took his shirt off and pulled the sword out.”

NYPD police officers reacted and Dixon was quickly taken in custody.
No one inside the Empire State Building was injured.
Police say the sword may have been concealed within a cane, but it is still unclear how Dixon got past metal detectors.
The man was taken to Bellevue Hospital hospital for psychiatric evaluation. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, according to ABC7.
