Jenis Grindstaff, an at-home hospice patient said he was missing something in his life, so staff members at the hospice joined together to fulfill his last wish.
Grindstaff said that before his cancer battle is over, he wanted to be baptized.
Grindstaff said he served 25 years as an air traffic controller in the Navy in Cuba and Guantanamo. He said he loved Jesus all the time, but he was never baptized.
Spartanburg Regional heard of his wish and used the hospice special needs fund to take him to the hospice house. There he was baptized by Chaplain Terrell Jones.
“It’s about our patients’ wishes,” Jones said. “We’re grateful to honor Mr. Grindstaff’s wishes.”
The footage of Grindstaff’s baptism went viral online. The video was viewed by more than 200,000 people.
