A Las Vegas woman has demanded a substitute teacher resign for reportedly taping a mask on her fourth-grade son’s face because he forgot to wear it in class.

The mother, who did not want to be named, was “furious” and afraid that the trauma would have long-term consequences.

“I was furious, furious. I was scared for my son on what kind of long-term effect it is going to have on him socially, the fact that the entire class was laughing,” she said. The incident occurred to her 9-year-old son at Mountain’s Edge’s Reedom Elementary School.

According to the New York Post, facemasks have been mandatory in the Clark County School District since July, irrespective of age or CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus (COVID-19) immunization status.

The female teacher “pulled him up in front of the classroom” and “taped the mask across the top of his face,” after the boy went to grab a drink of water and forgot to put on the mask instead of just ordering him to wear it back on, according to the mother, his classmates then burst out laughing.

The substitute teacher also applied a second layer of tape from the boy’s nose to his forehead. He then proceeded to the office to get homework he had left at home and that his father had dropped off while the tape was still on his face, the mother added.

“When he went to the office to pick up that homework is when one of the administrators noticed the tape on his face,” the mother recalled according to Breitbart. “She saw another student who she thought was my son with tape on their face as well.”

According to the boy, up to five children had masks taped on their faces, and this has been going on since the beginning of the school year.

“He was very upset. He was crying. He was humiliated,” the mom stated.

The mother emphasized she does not oppose mask mandates and it is not a political matter. However, she does not believe that going to extremes is essential, “Its crazy.” She added, “Corporal punishment in schools should not be happening.”

This teacher’s behavior was labeled an “isolated incident” by the school district system.

“The district is aware of the isolated incident and is dealing with the employee through the proper channels. The principal proactively notified the family of the investigation,” said the district’s announcement.

The teacher must be responsible for her acts and never teach young children again, said the mother. The parent has reportedly informed the police and considered enrolling her son in a private school.
