Lara Trump, Eric Trump’s wife, leads the Republican primary in New York’s 2nd Congressional District by more than 30% ahead of the second candidate, according to a poll cited by Breitbart News.

President Donald J. Trump’s daughter-in-law gained 53% approval, compared to 19% for former Republican Rep. Rick Lazio, for the district seat soon to be vacated by Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) at the end of his 14th term.

The Club for Growth PAC poll conducted by WPA Intelligence between Nov. 17 and 18 also found that 28% of respondents—400 Republican voters for the 2nd New York District primary—were undecided.

It also reflected that 60% have a positive opinion of Trump while only 13% have a negative opinion. Eighteen percent said they had never heard of her and 9 percent said they had not yet formed an opinion.

‘Well positioned to win’

“Lara Trump is well-positioned to win the Republican nomination for New York’s 2nd Congressional District and beat perennial loser Rick Lazio,” PAC Club for Growth President David McIntosh said.

“She is a dynamic leader who is uniquely positioned to withstand Nancy Pelosi’s socialist assault and hold the seat, and she would beat Lazio in the primary by more than 30 points if she decides to run,” McIntosh said.

“I’m incredibly honored by this showing of support from my fellow New Yorkers,” responded Lara Trump after Breitbart News informed her of her broad victory in the poll.

“While I would never close the door on anything in the future, right now I am focused on winning a second term for President Trump,” she added.

The fact that Lara Trump has obtained such approval in a district where she doesn’t even live could be a sign of President Trump’s strength but to regain the House majority he must equal the 2016 marks by 2020, and regain 31 districts currently represented by Democrats.
