Kanye West revealed that he is preparing to run for president, at a conference in New York.

“When I run for president in 2024, we’re going to definitely—what you all laughing at?” asked the musician, record producer, and designer in response to the audience’s reaction.

“When I run for president in 2024,” he reiterated seriously, “we would’ve created so many jobs that, in fact, I’m going to walk,” he said Thursday, Nov. 7 during the presentation of his new line of biodegradable shoes made from cultivated seaweed at the Fast Company Innovation Festival.

“Our goal is to bring the manufacturing back to America, South America, and North America, to bring it back stateside and also present jobs for people back here,” he added later.

West’s statements coincide with the announcement its “Yeezy” brand recently made, confirming that it will move its factories from abroad to the United States within two years to help create jobs, according to the Daily Mail.

“What I’m saying is that when they read the headlines: ‘Kanye is crazy’, this and that,” continued the 21-time Grammy Award winner.

“One in three African Americans are in jail and all the celebrities are in jail also ’cause they can’t say nothing,” he emphasized. “They got no opinion, they’re so scared!” he said.

“Even after [saying] this, I’ll get in the car and feel like I felt when in 2005 I told George Bush he didn’t care about people, because of the poor management he undertook in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina,” West recalled with laughter.
