President Joe Biden’s climate envoy John Kerry had seemingly disregarded the mask mandate pushed by the federal government when he was reportedly caught without a mask on a commercial flight.

The Tennessee Star, which first reported about a bare-faced Kerry, posted a photo and said that the climate czar took off his mask while reading a book on an American Airlines flight from Boston to Washington D.C. on Wednesday, March 17.

The photo shows that Kerry was wearing his mask hanging off one ear while he was not eating, nor drinking, which violates the mask policies imposed by U.S. airlines.

Under federal law, travelers who violate the federal mask mandate on flights could be subject to fines.

Fox News reported that it had confirmed the photo’s authenticity with the passenger, who snapped Kerry’s photo. The passenger shared an image of his boarding pass to prove he was on the same flight.

The passenger told Fox News that he saluted Kerry for not flying private, but instead flying first-class commercial flight, but added, “While he can’t bring himself to follow his own party’s mask restrictions, we should cut him some slack. Being an elite hypocrite is hard work!”

Donald Trump Jr., son of former President Donald Trump, mocked Kerry flouting Biden’s federal mask mandate and questioned if the climate envoy could be fined.
