The Democratic candidate for president of the United States, Joe Biden, in the face of widespread criticism about his possible inability to cope with the responsibilities of the office, used a strange device to defend himself. He invited his wife to defend him in front of the cameras.

On Wednesday, Jill Biden appeared on NBC’s Today, where she said the attacks on Joe’s cognitive ability are “ridiculous” and that the issue does not belong in the public realm. Jill added that Joe Biden is “on the phone every minute of the day” and participates in calls, meetings and events.

In the interview, hostess Savannah Guthrie asked if she thinks the new Trump ad attacking the former vice president’s mental fitness is fair. Jill Biden’s response was, “No, no, it’s ridiculous. I mean Joe’s on the phone every single minute of the day, talking to governors who are calling him, and Nancy Pelosi … He’s on the Zoom, he’s doing fundraisers, he’s doing briefings. I mean, he doesn’t stop from 9 in the morning to 11 at night. So, that, you know, that’s ridiculous,” she said.

The Biden couple’s comments came after Donald Trump Jr. posted a video on his Twitter account on Tuesday that said, “What happened to Joe Biden? The video compares excerpts from former Vice President Biden during 2015, where he is seen as energetic and clear in his messages, with excerpts from current speeches where he appears lost and struggling to connect sentences and resolve arguments with reporters.

The Donald Trump, Jr. book “Liberal Privilege,” due to be published in September features an interview with Dr. Ronny Jackson, the former Obama White House doctor. He gives his impression of presidential candidate Joe Biden’s health: “The best way I can describe him every time I see him, is that he’s just lost.”

Some media, such as Just the News, published excerpts from the interview.

The retired doctor, who is now involved in politics in Texas, was reluctant to determine that Biden has senile dementia as has been repeatedly implied. Still, he did say something was wrong with his health.

Jackson, during his work as Obama’s presidential physician, said he witnessed the changes in then-Vice President Joe Biden in person and over time. While he identifies him as a person who is always prone to making mistakes when speaking, he says it’s now not just mistakes but difficulty with forming sentences or even completing thoughts and resolving situations he finds himself in.

Concern about Joe Biden is not limited to his cognitive impairment, but also about his physical stamina. The job of president of the nation generates a lot of wear and tear. You only have to look at the number of conferences, trips and meetings that are published in a week by President Trump to realize that.

Biden’s health was an issue addressed by many media outlets, at least those that do not deny all critical realities of the Democrats. The Washington Examiner reported Fox host Maria Bartiromo saying on air this month, “There’s a mistake every day. We know that Joe Biden has a brain aneurysm and I think there are actually two of them.”
