A mother in Illinois was arrested this week for allegedly driving her two daughters around in an empty inflatable pool on top of her car.

Jennifer Janus Yeager, 49, was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon after she was seen driving a white Audi Q5 on Route 2 in Dixon, Illinois with two children on the vehicle’s roof, police said.

Officers pulled Yeager over at around 3 p.m. She told police that she drove into town to inflate the pool at a friends house — and was using the girls to hold it down atop the roof.

“During the course of the investigation it was learned that Yeager drove into town to inflate the pool at a friends’ house and had her two juvenile daughters ride inside of the empty pool to hold it down on their drive home,” police said in the statement.

Yeager was immediately arrested and charged with two counts of endangering the health or life of a child, two counts of reckless conduct, and failure to secure a passenger under the age of 8 and under the age of 16.

She was released late Wednesday after posting bond.
