The fifth presidential debate of the Democrats took place on Wednesday, Nov. 20, in Atlanta at 9 p.m. Elizabeth Warren brought up that the border crisis was caused by President Donald Trump’s policies, yet the latest reports prove otherwise.
Ten weeks before the Democratic primaries, candidates Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Tulsi Gabbard, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer, Elizabeth Warren, and Andrew Yang seem determined to compete for the presidential office in the 2020 election.
According to an article in The Guardian, Warren set out her profile based on racial disparities as a strategy to attract black voters.
She also said the illegal immigration situation on the southern border is “a man-made crisis” that President Trump “created,” according to Breitbart.
“The real point here is that we need to stop this man-made crisis at the border,” Warren said.
However, reports reveal that most of the time illegal aliens are mistreated while traveling to the U.S.-Mexico border.
Breitbart cited as an example a recent case where an immigration official detailed Border Patrol intervention on a pregnant woman who was beaten by cartel smugglers who wanted to collect a debt from her. Patrol agents brought the woman to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries; unfortunately, she lost her baby.
“Mexican drug cartels have profited billions from America’s open border through the drug trade and human trafficking, increasing their power in Mexico,” journalist John Binder said in his article in Breitbart.
Since 2009, homicide cases have reached 250,000 in Mexico and 30,000 disappearances. In 2017 alone, there were 26,573 murders, 1,275 kidnappings and 5,357 cases of extortion.
“For Americans, the illegal immigration crisis is very real,” Binder said.
In the past year, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested more than 6,600 convicted murderers and convicted sex offenders who were in the United States illegally. Of the those illegal aliens, 4,975 were convicted sex offenders and 1,641 had been convicted of manslaughter.
In addition, 1,913 other people arrested by ICE had sex crimes charges pending against them and 387 had murder charges against them.
President Trump has managed a series of Migrant Protection Protocols. A report published in October of this year revealed that since January, 55,000 immigrants have returned to Mexico. In addition, the Office of Customs and Border Protection estimates that 20,000 people remain in Mexico to process asylum applications.
