Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested Armando Clemente Ramos, an MS-13 gang member on Thursday, Feb.13, after he threatened officers in New York City.

The NYPD Sergeant’s Benevolent Association (SBA) shared the warning on Twitter after the NYPD’s Chief of Detective’s office received an anonymous tip that someone else might have been planning to shoot some of them.

Coming on the heels of two shootings in 12 hours the prior weekend, NYPD officials boosted security at station houses in the Bronx and took precautions after the alert.

By Thursday night, Ramos, who is an illegal, was taken into custody for threatening officers from the 41 St precinct in the Bronx—the same precinct where two officers were shot earlier.

“HSI special agents investigated the threat and subsequently made an arrest,” an HSI official told Fox News in a statement. “The investigation is still ongoing.”

Ramos is now being held on immigration-related charges. According to the New York Daily News, Thursday’s arrest was intended to “get the guy off the street” and additional charges could be coming.

New York welcomes illegal aliens. Last year, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the city would introduce a program to provide “free” health care to all the city’s residents, including illegal aliens. The sweeping plan is estimated to cost $100 million per year.

The mayor has also struggled to defend an increase in crime. In January, serious crime rose by almost 17 percent from the same month in 2019.
