An illegal alien who crashed into a school bus in Minnesota and killed four students in 2008, was arrested on Tuesday evening, Nov. 26, for illegally re-entering the United States.
Olga Franco del Cid, a 35-year-old from Guatemala, was arrested at her Inver Grove Heights home in Minnesota after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers got a tip that she had returned.
“It appeared she was trying to move residences quickly,” ICE Deputy Field Office Director Shawn Byers told FOX9. “So, we believe she may have been tipped off that we were looking for her and trying to flee but that’s all speculative at this point.”
She was convicted of killing four children in a school bus after she ran a stop sign in February 2008. She initially claimed her then-boyfriend was driving the vehicle.
Franco del Cid was deported back to Guatemala in 2016 after serving eight years of a 12.5-year sentence, the Star Tribune reported.
ICE officials said it was unclear how long she had been living in the country before she was arrested again.
Franco del Cid could face up to 20 years in federal prison for re-entering the United States.
