Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, being interviewed by Breitbart at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), warned about the excessive power of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats who support her have. He pledged to continue the fight to eliminate the Democratic majority in the House following the precepts of Make America Great Again (MAGA).
Pompeo, one of the Trump administration’s loyal staffers, is undoubtedly one of those considered a potential successor to Trump at the top of the America First MAGA movement. In CPAC’s usual poll of candidates in a Republican presidential primary, he finished in fourth place (leaving out Donald Trump) behind Donald Trump Jr., Kristi Noem, and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Mike Pompeo a fighter for the MAGA movement
His speech touted the obvious successes of the Trump administration over the past four years and followed up with an interview in which he pledged to continue his work as a fighter for the MAGA movement, announcing a clear goal of eliminating the Democratic majority from the House in the next two years.
When asked about a possible run for the presidency, Pompeo did not rule it out but assured that his focus over the next two years is “to defeat the Democratic majority in the House and retire Speaker Nancy Pelosi once and for all,” Breitbart reported.
Democrats with Joe Biden as president and Kamala Harris as vice president have taken over the White House, and Harris represents the most radicalized left-wing sectors of the United States. It is a difficult time for the conservative movement now that the Democrats have a majority in both chambers. Conservatives must unite to break this situation.
Conservatives should stay the course
Pompeo said that the left wants conservatives to make the “mistake” of backtracking on the Trump years’ successes but that Trump supporters should “stay the course” on the America First agenda. However, he admitted that the next four years with Biden and Harris in the White House will “test” conservatives and Republicans.
“The mistake that the liberals want us to make is they want us to move away from our ideas and our principles, the things that generated so much good in the past four years,” Pompeo said. “We can’t do that. We’ve got to stay the course. We’ve got to continue to press. I’m mindful—I was a congressman—we won seats all across America.”
Pompeo also laid out the severe threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to the United States and the world. He also said he is “concerned” when he hears Biden dismiss allegations of human rights abuses in China as mere cultural “norms.”
Pompeo fighting the CCP influence
“I worry when I hear President Biden say this is just differences in norms. Well, this is not just differences in norms. The Chinese Communist Party wants to undermine our democracy. They want to challenge the very way we exist today.” Pompeo said.
The last topic Pompeo addressed in the interview was the so-called deep state and how the permanent political class in Washington seeks to undermine many of the Trump administration’s achievements. Pompeo said the deep state “is real,” and conservatives can fight it by participating in government themselves and filling many of the positions needed to implement policies at home and abroad.
Pompeo’s interview came hours before Donald Trump’s speech on Sunday when the former president acknowledged many of Pompeo’s policy successes as secretary of state and exposed the Biden administration’s early failures.
