Deputies rescued two children from a car where two adults were discovered passed out in front seats.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the car was discovered around 3 p.m. Sunday by the I-275 on-ramp on Bearss Ave.
According to investigators, both the driver, Scott Moreno, 37, and the passenger, Shikira Ford, 32 were unconscious at the front of the car.
Deputies found two young children in the back of the Ford SUV.
The sheriff’s office said both of the unidentified adults had to be revived with Narcan, noting narcotics were found inside the car.
Moreno and Ford were taken to a local hospital. They’re facing Child Neglect charges.
Sheriff Chad Chronister said:
“We are very fortunate that this situation did not end with lives lost, and it’s largely due to the quick response of our deputies and the assistance of firefighters.”
He added that these two people not only put children at risk with their careless decisions, but they jeopardized the lives of countless other drivers on the road on Sunday afternoon.
