Hilary Watson, the wife of golf legend Tom Watson, died after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 63, according to Golf Digest’s John Feinstein.
The report said Hilary was put into hospice care last Saturday at their farm in Stilwell, Kansas. She remained there until she died shortly after midnight on Thursday, Nov 28.
“The void she leaves will be filled by memories, which will always remain as they leave indelible marks on our souls which we will never forget,” Tom said. “She said she was dying to live, not living to die throughout her entire ordeal with her cancer. She’s my hero.”
The family will hold a memorial service on Dec. 4 at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, Golfweek reported.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be given to the Children’s Bereavement Camp of Crossroads Hospice Kansas or to the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection.
