Texas boasts positive statistics that prove it must be the least favorable place for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Virus (COVID-19) pandemic to flourish.

On Monday, May 18, Gov. Greg Abbott proudly tweeted figures that demonstrate how the state triumph over the pandemic, marking the second month of freedom from conventional restrictions on hindering the airborne disease in a community.

Although state reporting was a few days slower, and the statistics missed out on those from larger counties as the data was being gathered during weekends, the absence of deaths was impressive.

The Governor gave out highlights of the Texas Department of State Health Services report: No Texans died from the disease since March 2020, lowest infection rates, and lowest hospitalized patients.

According to the proportions from Forbes cited from Johns Hopkins University six months ago, this recovery from Texas is indeed impressive. Texas appeared to be the worst affected nationwide when it was the very first place to climb past 1 million reported infections in November last year, with 3 million infected patients and more than 500,000 fatalities.

Surprisingly, the situation started to level off after Abbott decided to go mask off as well as lifting nearly all public mandates in early March, with daily cases per 7 days period reduced to approximately 5,000 cases in mid-March compare to 7,655 on March 3, data by Worldometers

This bold move inevitably faced criticism at first, as at that time, more onerous restrictions were the most logical remedy against the airborne disease.

When Texas resumed normal activity, President Joe Biden was highly doubtful of the outcomes, as were several other skeptics. Since the president believes in the effectiveness of the public restriction methods, he termed the rush to ordinary life “Neanderthal.”

“The last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime everything’s fine, take off your mask, forget it. It still matters,” Biden told reporters on March 3. “It’s critical, critical, critical that they follow the science, wash your hands, hot water, do it frequently, wear a mask, and stay socially distanced. I know you all know that.”

In a press release on May 14, Abbott reviewed that COVID-19 vaccines played a major role in Texas’ fight against the CCP Virus.

“Vaccines are the most effective defense against the spread of COVID-19, and I continue to urge all eligible Texans to get the vaccine,” he wrote. Under Abbott’s endorsement, Texas has now had 41% of its residents injected with the vaccines.

Yet, it is not a willing option for some to take those that are currently being rolled out in the United States. As more people are vaccinated, reports of severe side effects such as blood clots and even deaths keep building up, deterring some from trusting such measurement. VAERS has concluded a sweeping figure of 4,057 dead Americans who got inoculated from December 14, 2020, and May 7, 2021.
