Several Republican officials slammed NBC News on Tuesday, April 7, after the network continued to praise China’s handling of the CCP Virus (coronavirus) pandemic and admit reports of the communist regime lying about the outbreak, which originated in Wuhan.

“U.S. reports 1,264 coronavirus deaths in over 24 hours. Meanwhile in China, where the pandemic broke out, not a single new coronavirus death was reported,” NBC News tweeted with a link to a Tuesday reporting.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) blasted the network over the tweet, writing, “Under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, 22 USC 611 et seq, I’m pretty sure NBC is now legally obligated to close every broadcast with—and append to every tweet—’this message paid for by the Communist Party of China.’”

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) also hit NBC News, saying, “I wish our media was just as skeptical of President Xi as they are of President Trump. Instead, China’s false numbers are reported without question.”

“I’m not asking for much, just consistency. There’s a communist regime engaging in a coverup, and our press refuses to expose it,” he added.

China has been widely criticized over its secretive way of responding to the outbreak. Last week, the U.S. intelligence community reportedly confirmed in a classified report to the White House that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has concealed the severity of the virus outbreak in China, underreporting both total cases and fatalities linked to the disease, according to Bloomberg.

The New York Times on Sunday also allowed China’s ambassador to the United States to promote the CCP’s propaganda touting China’s support of countries affected by the virus and shifting its responsibility after letting the virus outbreak become a global pandemic. CNBC News and other outlets’ ignorance over the issue triggered outrage from Republican officials and critics.

“Strange that the media is so skeptical about hydroxychloroquine, yet so willing to believe propaganda from the Chinese Communist Party. They hate @realdonaldtrump more than they love America,” Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) tweeted.

China on Tuesday reported zero new virus-related deaths for the first time since January. Meanwhile, a Twitter account named Jennifer Zeng revealed a disturbing video recorded in Wuhan, in which people in gowns and masks were secretly moving bodies at midnight.

“Somewhere in #Wuhan, people moving body secretly as “zero new cases” has become a political task, and communities dare not break the “zero new cases” record, so they arrange to have the body moved at midnight,” Zeng wrote.
