Attorney Rudy Giuliani has claimed that about half of his documents seized by the “unethical and corrupt” Justice Department on April 29 were documents related to his representation of former President Trump.
According to Newsmax, Giuliani also stated that in 2019, the U.S. Justice Department also hacked into his ICloud and took the records he had held for nine months on behalf of Mr. Trump. He added that when he was a prosecutor and obeyed the Constitution, they never dared to seize his documents with such blatant disregard for the law.
He said he had never heard of blatant violations of client-attorney rights that way and that the Justice Department gave them his right to hack his iCloud. The 107th Mayor of New York City said that if they did so with an ordinary citizen, they would be fired and sent to prison.
“First of all, it meant they read all of it, including secret communications between a lawyer and client. Then they decided if they were privileged. If they did this to an ordinary citizen, they would be fired, disbarred, and thrown in jail. I’m tired of Donald Trump having no rights in America,” he said.
“Apparently, the Bill of Rights doesn’t apply to Donald Trump,” added Giuliani.
Giuliani, 76, has been overseen by federal agents for the past few years on suspicions of having a shady relationship with Ukraine. Agents searched his apartment and office at Madison Avenue and Park Avenue, respectively.
According to AP, “the dual searches sent the strongest signal yet that he could eventually face federal charges.”
A third search warrant was executed on the phone of Victoria Toensing, a former federal prosecutor and near ally of Giuliani and Trump in Washington. Her law firm said she had been told that she is not a subject of the investigation.
Giuliani accused federal authorities of a “corrupt double standard,” citing claims he’s made against prominent Democrats, and said the Justice Department was “running roughshod over the constitutional rights of anyone involved in, or legally defending, former President Donald J. Trump.”
Giuliani told Newsmax he had done nothing wrong.
“I didn’t violate a single law. I was a U.S. Attorney; I was the third ranking official in the Justice Department. Gosh, almighty, I’m not perfect, but when it comes to the law, I am obsessive”, Giuliani said.
According to Giuliani, Manhattan County Attorney’s Office had turned its back on Joe Biden’s crime evidence, he claimed that the office had met a lawyer named Bud Cummings, who gave them clear evidence of the crime: Biden engaged in bribery and illegally interfered in the 2016 presidential election by getting false information from Ukraine.
