A Kennesaw, Georgia, man was arrested after police said he tried to light his wife on fire, who is paralyzed from the waist down.

Officers identified the man responsible as 58-year-old Hassan Boyer.

Boyer reportedly doused his wife with lighter fluid, sprayed her with roach spray and then tried to light her on fire.

Boyer’s three young grandchildren were in the room at the time. Boyer’s wife was able to call 911 for help.

When officers arrived at the home, she told them that her husband was intoxicated and said to her that she ruined his life. He’s supposed to have a better life than this and that she set him up, according to FOX 5.

Boyer is now facing several charges, including aggravated assault and cruelty to children.

He is being held without bond in the Cobb County Jail.
