Former Bill Clinton adviser Dick Morris on Sunday, March 7, predicted that Democrats will invoke the 25th Amendment on President Joe Biden to remove him from office.
Morris’s comments came after senators introduced a bipartisan bill to strip Biden of war powers and 30 Democrats wrote a letter to Biden asking him to hand over sole authority of the nation’s nuclear codes.
“I think that this is all indicative of a lack of confidence in him, a lack of feeling he’s well enough to make these decisions, and I think the 25th Amendment is not going to be long in coming,” Morris said.
Citing bleak polling numbers from Rasmussen Reports, Morris said no other president had been more “missing from the beginning” than Biden has been in the first months of his presidency. He claimed that Biden “has no base,” no political attractions, and believes that “over the next year or so,” Democrats will oust him from office.
The 25th Amendment states that if a president becomes unable to perform his job, then the vice president would take charge with the presidential Cabinet’s approval.
Biden’s poor performance and his alleged dementia have sparked questions about his ability to lead the nation.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) wondered whether a possible transition from Biden to Vice President Kamala Harris has already taken place. Former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell suggested that former Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice is running things from “literally behind the scenes.”
“You have to wonder whether or not the transition to Harris has already begun,” Gaetz told Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo, adding, “Joe Biden’s had more nap time than he’s had questions from reporters,” and that, “Joe Biden has had more attacks on Syria than he’s had press conferences.”
During a ceremony at the White House honoring two female military aviators for promotion to four-star commands on Monday, Biden appeared to forget his defense secretary’s name.
“I want to thank Sec—the former general, I keep calling him general, my, uh, the guy who runs that outfit over there. I want to make sure we thank the Secretary,” Biden said.
