An amber alert has been issued for a 5-year-old Jacksonville girl who has now been missing for more than 24 hours as authorities continue to frantically search for her, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Police in Jacksonville say Taylor Rose Williams was discovered missing from her bedroom in her home in Jacksonville’s Brentwood neighborhood early Wednesday morning, Nov. 6.
Since then more than 100 police officers, firefighters, and people in the community have been looking for the little girl.
Taylor Williams was last seen near the 600 block of Ivy Street in Jacksonville. She was wearing purple and pink pajamas.
The child was not in her bed when her mother, Brianna Williams, checked on her about 7:20 a.m. Wednesday. She was gone and the back door was unlocked, police say.
“She’s obviously in danger, at 5 years old we know it’s very urgent we find her as quickly as possible,” Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Chief of Investigations T.K. Waters said.
