A Florida man was arrested Saturday night, Oct. 12, in the rape of a child he met on Snapchat, according to the Pasco County Sheriff office.
Austin Altman, 22, was accused of driving to Hernando County to meet a 10-year-old after grooming her on Snapchat, WFLA reported. He drove to her home when her parents were away, and convinced the girl to go back to his residence in Spring Hill, according to police.
Once Altman brought the child to his home, he allegedly raped her while holding her down with his hand on her throat.
The little girl reportedly asked him to stop several times, and he did not stop.
The child was transported to a local hospital where underwent a Sexual Assault Victim Exam.
In an interview with police, Altman admitted to having sex with the victim. He was charged with interference of custody and sexual battery on a child. He was also in violation of probation.
Altman was taken to the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center without bail.
