After a fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon, July 31, at the Rodd Field Road substation, AEP Texas continues to work to restore energy to a big region on the south side of Corpus Christi.
At all main junctions, the Corpus Christi Police Department placed mobile stop signs. Drivers should expect delays while they are in the area, according to KIII 3 News.

The southside campuses of the Corpus Christi Independent School District affected by the outage have closed for the day, according to the school’s report at 3 p.m.
The nearby Turf Sports Complex stated on Facebook that power is out throughout the southside and that its summer program will be affected.
The South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center also reported that they will be closing due to the power outage.
The Dr. Clotilde P. Garcia Public Library will be temporarily closed due to the power outage.
The power outage is affecting 14,000 customers in the surrounding area, according to AEP Texas.
The initial estimated time of restoration is 7 p.m. but the time could change.
