A Texas father said his teenager and three-year-old son were shot by Midland Police during a house search last night.
The father told CBS7 that the teen said police threw something through the window and then broke down the door without announcing they were officers. He said they did have a search warrant and that police have raided the house before on suspicion of drugs.
The teen had something in his hand when he encountered the police, the father said, but he couldn’t say what it was. He was shot in the arm and is now in juvenile detention.
The 3-year-old was shot in the back and has internal injuries and is being treated in a hospital in Lubbock.
The father said he was at work when the search happened.
A Midland City spokeswoman only confirmed there was an officer-involved shooting and that the Texas Rangers are investigating.
