A father died when he jumped in front of a moving train in the Bronx with his 5-year-old daughter on Monday, Sept. 23, according to authorities.
The incident took place at Jerome Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road before 8 a.m.
Police said the 45-year-old man jumped onto the tracks while holding his child and was hit by an oncoming Manhattan-bound No. 4 train.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Officers said the daughter survived. The little girl was taken to Jacobi Medical Center to be treated for scratches.
