A former White House physician has claimed that “every American” should be concerned after President Joe Biden’s problematic performance in his first press conference. He is raising questions about Biden’s fitness for office as well as his ability to speak to foreign leaders.
Dr. Ronny Jackson, told Fox News on Friday, March 26, said that Biden “barely made it through his first press conference” though he was equipped with a book with the photos of the journalists and prepared notes.
“The president of the United States was armed with a picture book of friendly reporters to call on and with what appeared to be prepared answers, but he still could barely make it through his first press conference,” the physician said.
“If President Biden cannot handle questions from his cheerleaders in the White House press corps, then it is concerning to think about how he represents the American people when speaking to foreign leaders,” said Jackson, who is also a congressman from Texas.
“Politics aside, this should concern every American who wants to know that their president is fit for duty and in control,” he said.
During his first solo press conference on Thursday, March 25, Biden called on some of the only 25 reporters gathered in the East Room of the White House.
Former President Donald Trump said that some reporters were feeding his successor those questions that would be easier to handle.
“Nobody’s seen anything like it,” Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham in an interview. “You know it. You know it better than anybody. You cover it so well. It’s very sad to watch, actually.”
During his press briefing held 64 days after he took office, Biden also raised the question about his gaffes and cognitive ability as he said that he became a U.S. senator 120 years ago.
“With regard to the filibuster, I believe we should go back to the position of the filibuster that existed just when I came to the United States Senate 120 years ago,” he said.
Biden, 78, the oldest president in U.S. history, faced questions about his declining health once again last week when tripped three times while he tried to jog up the stairs of Air Force One.
