What’s the secret to a happy married for almost seven decades? Matching outfits, of course. The couple has been coordinating their outfits for going on 68 years!
Francis and Rosemary Klontz first met when they were in junior high school in Auburn, Washington. Only a few years later, when they were both 19, they got married, CBS13 reported.
“My mother bought us matching T-shirts when we were in high school—I picked them out—and so we’ve matched ever since,” Rosemary said.
“And I thought she was the cutest little thing,” Francis said “by the time we were seniors, we started going together.”
During their marriage, Francis has let Rosemary do the honors of picking out her husband’s outfits every morning.
“She just lays it out for me, and I don’t have to worry about a thing!” Francis said.
The cute couple said the secret to their marriage, they seem to have perfectly coordinated. They even harmonize on vocals. These singing chaplains perform together at hospitals, church, and around the house.
“Jesus first, others second, yourself last. That’s the way you spell joy. Jesus and others and you—what a wonderful way to spell joy!” Rosemary sings while Francis lip-syncs in agreement.
These longtime sweethearts will celebrate their 68th anniversary next month.
