Former White House physician Ronny Jackson said he is convinced that self-proclaimed president-elect Joe Biden is not fit to be U.S. president, citing his mental capacity and cognitive ability.

Speaking with Sean Hannity from Fox News on Wednesday, Nov. 25, Jackson—who served from 2013 to 2018 in the Obama and Trump administrations, raised his concerns about Biden’s mental fitness for the White House job.

“I’m pretty familiar with what it takes both physically and cognitively to do that job and what the demands of that job are,” Jackson said.

“As a citizen, not as a candidate running for Congress, but as a citizen of this country, I’ve watched Joe Biden on the campaign trail and I am concerned and convinced that he does not have the mental capacity, the cognitive ability, to serve as our commander-in-chief and our head of state,” said Jackson, who won the House seat in the 13th Congressional District in Texas earlier this month.

Jackson made clear that he was not trying to remotely diagnose Biden with anything or accusing him of having Alzheimer’s.

“They’re not the typical gaffes. He routinely gets in the middle of a thought and then loses his train of thought and then he can’t recalibrate where he’s at. He’s actually having a lot of trouble recently articulating words,” Jackson said.

“As a physician, I can tell you that’s a mechanism that folks that are having cognitive difficulties use to move on and to get out of a situation,” he said. “This is a demanding job from a cognitive standpoint, you have to be locked on, you have to be articulate, you have to process lots and lots of information and multitask.”

“And right now he’s having a really extreme time just focusing on the one task at hand that he has when he stands up in front of voters and tries to explain something,” the physician continued.

Last month, Jackson also expressed concern about Biden’s mental state, saying, “He is not up to the job.”

President Donald Trump has frequently brought up Biden’s gaffes, who turned 78 last week.

Biden has sometimes forgotten where he is, where he has been, and what he was saying on a consistent basis since the outset of his campaign last spring, which raise concerns about his dementia signs.
