No sooner had President Trump complimented Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) for voting “present’ on the impeachment vote than the Democratic National Committee (DNC) had their claws out for her. She angered party leaders by her vote of “present,” but the president acknowledged her stance.

“I give her respect. She didn’t vote the other day. I give her a lot of respect because she knew it was wrong,” said the president.

Fellow Democrat. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.)slammed Gabbard for her nonvote.

“Today was very consequential, and to not take a stand one way or another, on a day of such great consequence to this country, I think is quite difficult,” Ocasio-Cortez said at the end of the House vote. “We are sent here to lead.”

The DNC’s Democratic Unity Fund is a new fundraising push that was set in motion on Monday, Dec. 23, featuring 10 presidential hopefuls who take turns reading the same message. Gabbard was a glaring omission from the ad, reports Fox News.

Those included are former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), tech businessman Andrew Yang, Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), billionaire Democratic donor Tom Steyer, and former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick.

“I’m running to be your nominee, but no matter who ends up on that stage as our nominee in the convention, we need the whole Democratic Party to unite if we want to take back the White House and win seats all across the country and deliver a presidency consistent with our Democratic values,” the candidates told viewers.

“Unity is what this moment in history demands of us right now because the stakes have never been higher. As Democrats, we know there is so much more that unites us than divides us. And next year, we have the opportunity to make sure that our shared values are represented.”

The former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently had daggers out for Gabbard, when she suggested the Russians were grooming her. No Democrats came out in defense of Gabbard, which Gabbard said has “a chilling effect” on freedom of speech.

President Trump dismissed Hillary Clinton’s remark on Gabbard on Dec. 21, indicating, “I don’t know her, but I know one thing: She is not an agent of Russia.”

The new ad also includes Deval Patrick, who polled at 0 percent in the latest Fox News poll.

“So Deval Patrick gets included [but] @TulsiGabbard does not?” The Hill chief Washington correspondent Saagar Enjeti asked.
