Conservative commentator Dan Bongino will take up the radio slot filled by the late talk-show legend Rush Limbaugh, Cumulus Media’s Westwood One announced on Wednesday, March 17.

The show will air on the radio Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. starting May 24. Listeners will be able to tune into Bongino’s show nationwide.

“The Dan Bongino Show will tackle the hot political issues, debunking both liberal and Republican establishment rhetoric. As a former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer, Bongino is uniquely positioned to provide commentary and analysis that directly questions the philosophical underpinnings of both the Left and Big Government Republicans,” the press release stated.

Limbaugh passed away in February after a long battle with lung cancer. According to Talkers, Limbaugh is the most-listened-to radio host in the country, with 15.5 million listeners tuning in weekly as of December 2019.

“I’m excited to embrace the immense power of radio to connect with my listeners live for three hours every day,” Bongino said. “This is an incredible privilege, and I pledge to honor the trailblazing work of those who came before me.”

Bongino was a Secret Service agent before he became a media personality. He has been a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump and has risen to the top of the charts among talk-shows nationwide. In 2020, his podcast was downloaded more than 117 million times and ranked in the top two slots among all podcasts on Apple following the 2020 election.

“Rush Limbaugh is the reason I’m in politics & media. No one will ever replace him,” former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany wrote in a tweet.

“I could not be more excited to see @dbongino picking up the 12–3 PM ET slot!” she added. “He is immensely talented, incredibly savvy & (like Rush) a friend & mentor to those in his industry (including me!)
