A short conversation with the cashier at a local farmer’s market in Central Lake, Michigan, on Saturday, July 3, raised some doubts about the 78-year-old President of the United States’ health conditions again.

As president Joe Biden stood at the counter of King Orchards farm store, he was approached by a reporter with a sudden inquiry about the latest cyberattack by Russia.

Explaining that he has only viewed the information briefly, Biden said he might need a quick review from the notes to answer the question.

“We’re not sure it’s the Russians, I got a brief when I was on the plane. That’s why I was late getting off the plane,” replied Biden. “I’ll be in better shape to talk to you about it.”

As Biden fumbled for the notes inside his pocket, the president frankly offered to read the information he was given. “I’ll tell you what they sent me.”

“The idea—first of all, we’re not sure who it is for certain, number one. And what I did, I directed the full resources of the government to assist in a response if we determine,” the president started to answer.

He stopped to answer a cashier when he became aware she was talking to him, asking if he needed a receipt for the pie he bought.

“I directed the intelligence community to give me a deep dive on what’s happened. I’ll know better tomorrow,” the president resumed. “And if it is either with the knowledge of and/or a consequence of Russia, then I told Putin we would respond.”

Ideas were mixed about this moment from the commander-in-chief. While many suggested it was tactful for Biden to consider his words carefully before speaking, others said it must have been another episode of an old-age stumble by the president.

“Responsible leaders consider words before speaking and wait for all information prior to making decisions/statements. Thats what I saw,” Tweeted one user.

“No RNC. He is being responsible and not saying things when he is unsure,” said another.

“This poor guy needs a doctor and fast,” wrote another.

During the same day, ex-White House doctor Ronny Jackson urged the Democrats that they “need to demand Joe Biden take a cognitive test,” reported by The U.S. Sun.

“You can go back—there’s 40 years of tape of this man—he’s always made gaffes and stuff but these are different, he’s confused, he’s disoriented,” he added.

This was not the first time that the former physician demanded Biden take a cognitive test. Since last year’s presidential campaign, he has brought this subject up occasionally, shed doubts on the then candidate’s mental state.

In mid-June this year, Jackson reiterated the same demand with the Democrats.

“Just everything that has been going on for the last year and a half … [Biden] doesn’t know what’s going on, where he’s at. He’s very confused all the time,” he said, according to The Hill. “They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties demanded of the office, and they deserve to have full transparency on the mental state of their highest elected leader.

Biden’s health capacity has been one of the key arguments for the Republicans to question the president’s suitability for his position.

The U.S. Sun noted that Biden will be taking a medical exam this year and the results will be available for public viewing.
