10TV meteorologist Mike Davis was charged with child pornography Thursday, Sept.5. It has sent shockwaves throughout the Columbus viewing area.
Davis was arrested and charged with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and a second-degree felony, according to court documents.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday, Sept. 6, at 9 a.m.
Court documents show Davis allegedly advertised for sale or dissemination, distribute, sell, transport, an image of a minor participating or engaging in sexual activity on Aug. 5.
According to Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Mark Gofstein, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Davis’s home in Upper Arlington, Ohio, Thursday morning.
The arrest was made by a detective from the sheriff’s office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
He has been a meteorologist in Central Ohio since 1987, according to his bio on 10TV’s website as of 10:40 a.m., Thursday.
10TV did not release a comment after learning of the arrest Thursday morning.
