Baby Emalee’s parents said their final goodbyes to the child who will now give the gift of life to others. One person after another lined the halls of the Pediatric ICU at Community Regional Medical Center for Emalee’s honor walk, ABC7 reported.
Her mother said that she seemed happy and healthy until she started vomiting a little more than a week ago. Emalee was pronounced brain dead after being diagnosed with a brain tumor after not responding to surgery.
“Emalee was our firstborn. We only had her for five months, but we cherish the life of our first baby,” Michael Abrams, Emalee’s father, said.
The 5-month-old baby girl will now give a life-saving gift to at least two patients, her parents are hoping to save other parents from this heartbreak while helping heal their own.
“I just want them to know, don’t feel guilty. It’s not their fault,” Emalee’s mother, Jayden Rose, said.
“Make sure you hug your children, kiss your kids. Don’t take them for granted,” Abrams said.
