Raihan Dakhil Awaida, 32, a mother and wife died Sunday, Nov. 3, following a Halloween night crash that killed her husband and 3-year-old son when they were struck by a suspected DUI driver in Long Beach, California, the family said.

The collision was reported shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, near Los Cerritos Park. The family, which was trick-or-treating at the time, had been run down on a sidewalk by a driver in a 2002 Toyota Sequoia, police said.

All three family members were in critical condition when they were transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital.

Joseph Awaida, 30, identified as the father by a GoFundMe page, died of his injuries on Friday morning. His 3-year-old son, Oma, died at a hospital on Saturday. Raihan Dakhil, the last remaining survivor of the crash, died Sunday, her family said, according to ABC7.

The family is devastated.

“It feels like a nightmare,” Faisal Dikhil, Raihan Dakhil’s father said.

At the scene of the crash on Saturday, family and friends gathered to mourn Omar and Awaida.

Friends said Awaida worked at his family’s auto repair shop in the area while he was studying to complete a medical degree, and Dakhil loved helping people and volunteering at local nonprofits.

The driver of the SUV, Carlo Navarro, 20, was booked for driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter. Navarro is out on bail after it was set at $100,000.
