A Modesto, California, father’s dying wish to see his son’s high school graduation was fulfilled from his own hospice bed, KOVR reported.

San Joaquin Hospice and Grace M. Davis High School partnered so Paul Espinoza could see his only son, also named Paul, receive his high school diploma.

In a hospice bed, surrounded by family and friends, Espinoza watched his son graduate in a very special ceremony hours before he died.

“It’s my dad’s dream to see me graduate,” the younger Paul said, according to KOVR. “It’s my dream to graduate in front of my dad and everybody made my dad and my dream happen.”

Espinoza said to his son, “Oh my god, I’m so proud of you.”

“I knew you could do it,” the proud father added.

Paul Espinoza died at 9:20 p.m. Friday evening, Nov. 1, after his battle with cancer, KOVR reported.
