A bungee cord on a slingshot ride in Panama City, Florida, broke just before launching passengers high into the air.

According to WMBB, the incident happened on Saturday evening, Aug. 17, at Cobra Adventure Park on Front Beach Road. Two passengers were seated in the Vertical Accelerator ride when one of the cords shredded.

A video showed the left elastic rope snapping to the ground when an employee was about to launch the ride.

After the incident, the passengers were removed and the ride was closed. There are no reports of injuries.

The Cobra Adventure Park officials told WMBB that the ride is currently open and inspectors will be checking on this.

Reverse bungee rides, also known as slingshots, a catapult bungee or ejection seats fling riders hundreds of feet into the air on elastic ropes.
