A 13-year-old boy was arrested after shooting his sister’s boyfriend to death during an argument at a Katy, Texas, home late Saturday night, Nov. 30, according to authorities.
Police said the suspect who also shot and wounded his sister used a shotgun.
The 19-year-old boyfriend was pronounced deceased at the scene just before midnight, KHOU reported.
The 18-year-old sister was rushed to a hospital with a gunshot wound to either her upper torso or neck, according to authorities. She is expected to survive.
There were about 10 people at the house at the time of the shooting, authorities said.
The shooter was detained at the scene. It is not clear what he will be charged with.
The homeowners, who are the parents of the sister, were out of the country at the time of the shooting, the paper reported.
According to family members, the couple had been together for about one year.
