In an interview with Reuters, on Wednesday, Jan. 27, billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates said he is surprised by the millions of online posts and “crazy conspiracy theories that blame him and infectious disease expert Dr. Fauci for the CCP Virus.
Gates is hoping to investigate who or what is behind the theories. “Nobody would have predicted that I and Dr. Fauci would be so prominent in these really evil theories,” Gates said.
“Did we create the pandemic? Are we trying to profit from it?” asked Gates referring to online chatter about himself and Dr. Fauci. “I’m very surprised by that. I hope it goes away.”
Gates, who resigned as the chairman of Microsoft Corp in 2014 to concentrate on global health and development among other projects, pledged at least $1.75 billion to help fight the pandemic created by the CCP Virus. Included in this was money for the development of vaccines, potential treatments, and diagnostics.
Conspiracies about the virus, and where it originated along with the motives of those who fight against it are rife. One theory suggests Gates and Fauci were involved in the creation of the virus that led to the pandemic as a way to gain control of the masses, and by using the vaccines as a way to insert microchips into people as a trackable device.
“But do people really believe that stuff?” Gates asked. “We’re really going to have to get educated about this over the next year and understand .. how does it change peoples’ behavior and how should we have minimized this?”
Gates said that they should have explained in a better way what they were up to, or perhaps engaged more with social media.
He is excited about the health team President Biden has assembled to deal with the pandemic, and praised Fauci and Francis Collins, head of the U.S. National Institutes of Health, as “smart” and “wonderful people.” He is looking forward to them being able to work effectively and speak the truth under the Biden administration, reported Reuters.
“I’m excited about the team that Biden has picked” to tackle the health crisis, Gates said.
Gates said he was also pleased that under Biden, the United States has rejoined the World Health Organization, and “that he’s appointed smart people, and the fact that Dr. Fauci won’t be suppressed.”
