The Biden administration on Jan. 26 rescinded a proposal made by former President Trump without notifying the press. The proposal aimed at monitoring the activity of U.S. educational institutions with connections to Confucius Institutes used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to spread propaganda and infiltrate spies into the United States.

On Dec. 31, former President Donald Trump submitted a proposed rule to the Department of Homeland Security titled a Requirement for Student and Exchange Visitor Program Certified Schools to Disclose Agreements with Confucius Institutes and Classrooms, which was intended to monitor the activities of educational institutions with CCP cultural programs.

The Confucius Institutes are under the Chinese Ministry of Education and many of their directors are members of the Chinese Communist Party, whose main agenda is to spread a positive image of the CCP as well as communist ideology to American students.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, announced on Aug. 13, 2020, that the Confucius Institutes were declared foreign missions—a designation given to organizations that answer to foreign governments.

Overturning Trump’s proposal will allow the CCP to continue to indoctrinate American students and present a positive image of the CCP, even as behind closed doors it persecutes, tortures, and kills its own citizens.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) reacted to the news on his Twitter account.

Although in public statements the Biden administration has said that China remains a threat to the United States and that it will maintain a tough stance against the CCP, in practice, the decisions made are benefiting the Chinese Communist Party on several fronts.

Biden’s decision to rejoin the WHO, which now practically functions as a propaganda arm of the CCP, and which recently validated the idea that the virus did not originate in China, greatly benefited the image of the CCP.

Furthermore in his  first days in the White House, Biden banned the use of the term “China virus” as viruses are normally named for their origin in all federal agencies.

Perhaps that is why the conservative media call him “China Joe” as he simply seems to be taking orders from the CCP.
