Immigrants seeking asylum on U.S. soil were tested positive for the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Virus, or COVID-19, after being released by border patrol officials.
As an NBC News report details, “Miriam Izaguirre, a 35-year-old asylum-seeker from Honduras, crossed the Rio Grande at dawn Monday with her young son and turned herself in to the authorities.”
“A few hours later she was released, and the first thing she did was take a rapid test for Covid-19 at the Brownsville bus station. They told her her test came out positive,” the report states.
According to the Daily Wire, the report released on Tuesday also highlights that several families who claimed to be infected with the virus had been waiting to go to destinations on the East Coast, including North Carolina, Maryland, and New Jersey.
Such a situation represents a complex scenario for Joe Biden’s administration, which has sought at all costs to relax immigration policies, not only in order to attract immigrants to the border, but also to give them opportunities to acquire citizenship.
Under the Biden administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has required all air travelers to undergo a negative coronavirus test both before and after entering the United States.
However, as Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council told Fox News reporter Tucker Carlson, illegal aliens are not tested for the CCP Virus (COVID-19).
It should be noted that in addition to eliminating the border emergency declaration, Biden gave orders to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to release all illegal aliens, preventing them from being deported back to their countries of origin.
According to the NBC report, immigrant families that were released by the Border Patrol were given rapid coronavirus tests after arriving at a bus station in the city of Brownsville, Texas.
According to a Brownsville representative, since the testing began on Jan. 25, 108 immigrants or 6.3% have tested positive.
The Brownsville spokesman also told Telemundo via email that the city had no authority “to retain these migrants who plan to travel to dozens of cities throughout the country.”
In order with the guidelines given by the CDC, city officials only recommended those who tested positive for the CCP Virus to quarantine, and for those who are infected, they recommended going to “nongovernment organizations (NGOs) and nonprofits in the border area who can take them in and isolate them in order to keep quarantine.”
However, the report also does not indicate whether those who were infected followed the recommendations of the city authorities or simply ignored them and continued on to their destinations.
As the Daily Wire pointed out, it is still unclear why border authorities let the asylum seekers into the country after Biden’s Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas emphasized that those arriving at the border should wait to receive health care.
Former President Donald Trump, under the health law known as Title 42, managed to curb the flow of illegal immigration into the United States as a result of the crisis caused by the CCP Virus, arguing that this would ensure public health.
